Writing a Topic on Social Issues
Writing a Topic on Social IssuesHaving a question on what topic of social issues to write about can be really difficult. This is because the subject matter of the articles often change in time. Therefore, it is important to put some thought into your topic.Your subject matter should be grounded and logical. This means that you should be able to make a statement and defend that statement. It also means that you should not be a political hack, you should have the ability to argue with facts, not just opinion. One thing that you should not do is assume that your own opinion has the credibility that your facts and research can provide. As always, you are required to back up your positions with logic. While others may think that your argument is valid, you know better.Another important issue is to present the issue in a way that will spark thought. It is not enough for you to go through the motions when you are trying to reach a mass audience. You must be able to keep the reader's attentio n.While you may feel that you can make an argument, it is still important that you present a sense of realism. In other words, make sure that you are not being overly dramatic or using profanity in your writing. Your reader will want to know that the facts are backed up by logic. This will keep them coming back. When you are writing, it is easy to fall into the trap of saying too much. Make sure that you stay in the area of what is necessary. You can say things like, 'while everyone is quite positive that drug use is good for you', but make sure that you leave the rest up to the reader.A simple paragraph about how many people abuse drugs should be all that you need to say. This can be used in the beginning of your article. Once again, you are going to need to be able to justify your position and make a strong statement. Also, it is important to make your article easier to read. For example, if you are trying to explain why a politician made a certain decision, include the main point i n the first sentence. Then go on to say what the main points were in the paragraphs that follow. This will make the article flow well and will make it easy for your reader to understand what you are trying to accomplish.
